The School Nutrition Program kicked off 2025 with a great
start! For January, we welcomed for the first time
teaching at the SNP, chef Signe Langford. Signe is a
former restaurant owner, food blogger, book author,
proud chicken owner and radio host. She’s also a wealth
of knowledge when it comes to food and cooking. This
month, Signe is teaching the students how to make their
fav – pizza!
The students have learned how to make and knead the dough, as
well as make their own pizza sauce from scratch. Students
experimented with toppings, although a classic cheese pizza
seems to be the preferred choice. Signe’s passion for food has
captured the students’ attention and helped them build their
confidence in the kitchen. The taste alone proves making food from
scratch over buying processed food is worth it. But the pride that
comes from learning the skill of cooking is priceless! Thank you
Signe, for sharing your expertise with the SNP!
